Its the holidays and hopefully we are all getting the warm and fuzzies about feeling the "reason for the season". Personally, I love Xmas/holiday time. I absolutely love giving gifts and I love to watch people opening their gifts and the smile alone, gives me the warm and fuzzies. Creepy I know, but something about surprising someone with a gift, they you had to put some thought into, making them feel loved and appreciated, just tickles my fancy! This year, myself and my best girlfriends with kids(there are four of us now) decided we aren't going to exchange gifts for each other, but we are going to get gifts for the kids instead. I think its a great idea and really, its all about the kids! My girlfriends who dont have kids, well they arent expecting anything, but I always manage to send them something fun, girly, and flirty, cause I absolutely love them! Either way, the reason I am writing this blog is because some people think it is so important to buy everyone, even mere acquaintances something for the holiday season. That can get super expensive, and may make some people feel obligated to buy you something in return, when they werent planning on it to begin with, and quite possibly cant even afford it.
Maybe in high school and for some people in college, things were a popularity contest. How many friends you had set your status, or made you feel good. But can you honestly look at all of them as friends, or just people who know of you, or know something about you. No lies, I was popular in high school, and I liked it, but looking back, I wish I would have realized it was not important, at all. Once I got out of high school, I kept my best friends, only two who went to my school, two from the neighborhood, and then made some great new best friends. I have one best friend who I had only known for 5 months before she moved away(military) and we are still best friends. She actually got moved to about 3 hours south of where I am now and every time we meet up, its like we never missed a beat of each other.
I feel like thats how you know when you have a true best friend. If every time you get together, its like nothing ever changed, you have a good friend there. Of course reliability, trust, honesty, and keeping it 100% real all the time are other musts. I feel blessed. If I cant count my best friends on one hand, Im good, and really thats all we need. I wouldnt want 20 best friends. Thats ridiculous and overwhelming, and too much. You wouldnt have any "you" time with your friends(and thats important to get "your" things off your chest with those you trust), you'd be juggling "them".
So this season, enjoy your besties. If you have lost touch, a card, hell even a phone call, might do the trick, if you pick up right where you left off, thats a true friend indeed. Feel blessed for those you have and if you see someone lonely, try to do something to make them smile. Happy Holidays!!!!!!!!!!

My First
My first blog that is...
Let's just get this show on the road. My name is Jessica, I'm 27 years old, and I have been through a lot in my young age. I have some of the most amazing friends on the planet and my the majority of my family members support me and are awesome. I've decided to start blogging because...well, my best friends have been telling me for the past few years that I should just write a book about the shit that I've been through, but I feel like this is a better start. I also feel that this will be a type of therapy for me, and maybe someone somewhere who maybe has gone through the same things as myself can relate and not feel so alone.
My little voice will discuss everything from marriage and relationships (I'm, divorced), parenting ( I have a little boy), being a woman (strictly my experiences), and friendship (I have the best friends). I will never divulge real names, but all the situations and scenarios are 100% real, that's a promise.
That's all I'm gonna say today. Just a short introduction....
